Questions about OregonRocketry? The club, the launches, getting involved, becoming a board member.

  • What is the first thing I need to learn?
Immediately begin thinking of yourself and family as being a part of OregonRocketry. Terms like us, we, club are the terms you should feel welcome to begin using. We are a club of great people, and welcome aboard. Treat and care for this club, even from the beginning.
  • Is there a test for joining OregonRocketry?
No. You simply need to complete the membership application and sign the release form. With that pay you dues, and you are a member.
  • Can I certify with OregonRocketry?
Yes and no. You are welcome to gain your certification at any OregonRocketry event. But certifications are held by being members of one of the national organizations; either National Association of Rocketry or Tripoli Rocketry Association. You must be a member of one of the national associations and complete certifications based on their guidelines.
  • Why do you ask about skills on the application?
Membership of OregonRocketry is 100+ each year. We have a collection (yes, I said collection) of varying skills. In the event we have specific club needs, we might rely upon the skills of members. It’s not a resume, so you’ll never be questioned on tested.
  • What are people like?
OregonRocketry members are a great group of people. You, your family and friends are welcome. Friendly environment is the norm. New to the hobby? Bringing the kids? You are all welcome. You’ll have a great time.
  • Are you more open or closed to newbies?
Open. We at OregonRocketry were all newbies at some time. You’ll feel welcome, and people are happy to discuss their rockets and projects. And you must not need to be a member. You can simply pay the launch fees and fly. You’ll be welcome. Bring your family and friends.
